Janet Abuel.</p><p>Speaker Gloria Macagapal-Arroyo asked for a briefing on the 2020 budget on Monday to prevent delays that plagued the 2019 General Appropriations Act, which was signed in April.</p><blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p dir="ltr" lang="en">Speaker Arroyo, Rep. Federico Sandoval, vice chairman of the Committee on Appropriations, said the House respects Duterte&#x27;s veto of some line items.</p><p>Sandoval said flood control projects in his districts were affected by the veto.</p><p>House Minority Leader Danilo Suarez said the veto could affect employment, job generation and anti-poverty projects. &quot;That’s up to the economic managers to answer those questions later if we are proven right in our observations,&quot; he said.</p>
