Sepe Jr., ABS-CBN News</cite></div></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA - Bank of the Philippine Islands said it was shutting electronic channels on Thursday to correct remaining inconsistencies in accounts due to a glitch from the previous day.</p><p>BPI branches will be open until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday to accommodate clients, the bank said, adding credit cards, remittance, SWIFT, equities, brokerage, investments, and loans operations would continue.</p><p>&quot;We reassure our clients that the integrity of their accounts will be maintained,&quot; BPI said in a statement.</p><p>The country&#x27;s third largest lender with 8 million clients has not commented on the extent of the disruption. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said it would investigate the incident.</p><p>BPI said the glitch was <a href="http:// http://news.abs-cbn.com/business/06/07/17/bpi-says-glitch-fixed-access-to-atms-restored"><strong>fixed</strong></a> late Wednesday but some customers reported that unauthorized debits were not restored.</p><p>At the stock exchange, BPI shares were down 1.5 percent to P105 in early trading.</p>
