MANILA - The Bureau of Internal Revenue on Tuesday filed three tax evasion cases before the Department of Justice, including one against former professional basketball player Franz Pumaren.Pumaren and his All Best Chodvale Development Inc. were assessed with P20.45 million in liabilities in 2009.Food service company Bistro Italiano Corp. and its president, William A. Stelton, and treasurer, Lawrence C. Ong were accused of failing to pay P4.29 million in taxes in 2007.Another food company, Cebu Fiesta Island of the South Restaurant Corp. and its president, Dennis H. Tia, were assessed with P7.99 million in deficiencies in 2008.The BIR said the accused were informed of their liabilities but failed to settle or contest the alleged delinquencies.ABS-CBN is reaching out to the parties accused. -- report from Ina Reformina, ABS-CBN News
