MANILA - The House of Representatives on Tuesday approved on third and final reading a bill that will require public utility vehicles to install surveillance cameras and navigation equipment.Installation of at least 2 closed-circuit television or CCTV cameras and GPS trackers per vehicle will be a requirement for the renewal of an operator&#x27;s franchise, according to House Bill 6112.Footage from the CCTV cameras and GPS tracking data should be available upon request of law enforcement agencies.The bill proposes penalties of as much as P2 million and up to 3 years in jail for violators.The Senate can either adopt the House version or reconcile it with its own version before the President can sign it into law. -- RG Cruz, ABS-CBN News
