ABS-CBN focusing on ‘core capabilities’ despite ‘difficult journey’ ahead: CEO

<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2020/news/09/24/abs-cbn.jpg"/></figure></div>MANILA - ABS-CBN Corp. is committed to finding new ways to serve Filipinos by focusing on &quot;core capabilities” despite the denial of its franchise, said president and CEO Carlo Katigbak on Thursday as the company hopes to emerge from the crisis &quot;better, stronger and more successful.&quot;With the House of Representatives&#x27; <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/07/10/20/house-committee-denies-abs-cbn-a-new-franchise">denial</a> of ABS-CBN&#x27;s application for a fresh 25-year franchise, the network is now focused on creating programs to entertain and inform its audience, Katigbak said during the company’s virtual stockholders&#x27; meeting. &quot;Now more than ever, we can focus on our core capabilities, creating programs to entertain, inspire and give joy for Filipino families and delivering news that informs, educates and helps our Kababayan especially in their time of need,&quot; Katigbak said.&quot;Nothing can take away our spirit of service.
