MAYNILA - Binatikos ni Sen. Raffy Tulfo ang umano’y hindi patas na natatanggap na suweldo ng mga FIlipino na nagtatrabaho sa mga Philippine offshore gaming operators o POGOs kumpara sa mga foreign national.Sa isinagawang pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Ways and Means kasama ang Public Order and Dangerous Drugs committees, tinukoy ni Tulfo ang napakalayo umanong kaibahan sa suweldo ng mga empleyado.“Okay lang sa akin kung mas malaki yung sa Chinese POGO workers dahil marunong sila mag Mandarin at inimport pa sila from China, etc. Pero dapat malapit-lapit sa katotohanan kasi sabi ni Sen. Grace Poe, mayroon siyang nakausap na POGO worker from China na dumating dito, P100,000 daw po ang sinusuweldo. So therefore, kung P100,000 ang sinusuweldo nila, dapat malapit-lapit din ang suweldo ng mga Pinoy na POGO workers,” ani Tulfo. “At least man lang, sabi ko P50,000. Pero kung sila ay binibigyan ng minimum wage, hindi po patas &#x27;yan.l Dapat po, malapit-lapit man lang sana,” dagdag ng senador. Ayon kay Bureau of Internal Revenue Director Sixto Dy, P12,000 ang minimum na binabayarang buwis ng mga nagtatrabaho sa POGO.“Yung sinabi ko pong amount, for the foreign nationals because under the POGO law, the law presumes the salary is P50,000. Kaya po ang kinakaltas sa kanila na withholding tax is 12,500. So kahit po mababa ang suweldo nila sa P50,000, ang kaltas po sa suweldo nila is P12,500,&quot; ani Dy.Sa tala ng Department of Labor and Employment, umaabot sa 34,245 ang nagtatrabaho sa POGO ngayong taong, kung saan 17,509 dito ay mga foreign national habang 16, 736 naman ang mga Pilipino.Habang sa kabuuang 23,587 na nabigyan ng Alien Employment Permit o AEP mula Enero hanggang Setyembre ng taong kasalukuyan, nasa 23,183 ang nakatatanggap ng suweldo sa pagitan ng P30,000 at P59,999.Nasa 270 naman ang may buwanang suweldo mula P60,000 hanggang P89,999, habang 128 ang nakatatanggap ng P90,000 at pataas na suweldo.Wala namang datos para sa nalalabing anim na empleyado. “In our application sa AEP, we require the foreign national to declare po yung kanilang salary. So ito po yung salary range na nakuha namin sa mga application. And based rin po ito sa employment contract. We actually depend po sa declaration nila doon sa contract,” ayon kay Rosalinda Pineda ng DOLE Bureau of Local Employment - Employment Service Policy and Regulation Division. “Ang gusto ko lang i-point out dito, yung mga Chinese POGO workers at Filipino POGO workers, dapat pantay-pantay po ang suweldo. Pantay0pantay po ang pasuweldo hangga’t maaari. Kung hindi man, at least malapit sa katotohanan. Huwag naman po yung sobrang layo, milya-milya yung diperensya sa pasuweldo,” sabi ni Tulfo.
