MANILA - SM Supermalls was required by government to submit its organizational structure to address issues of regularization and labor standards, a labor official said on Wednesday.

SM, owned by SM Prime Holdings, was also required to present the number of workers engaged in bilateral, trilateral, and quadrilateral working agreements with the company, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said.

The Bureau of Working Conditions of the labor department met with SM officials on Wednesday to discuss employment issues.

Bello earlier said SM was found to have violated labor standards despite voluntarily regularizing almost 5,000 of its contractual employees. Labor Undersecretary Dominador Say said SM engages with labor-only contractors.
