MANILA - San Miguel Corporation on Wednesday said it was implementing a new traffic management scheme at sections of the South Luzon Expressway and Skyway amid the construction of another tollway that will connect C-5 to the Manila-Cavite Expressway.

SMC, which operates the SLEX and Skyway systems, said these toll roads will be heavily affected by Metro Pacific Tollways Corp's 7.7-kilometer, six-lane C-5 South Link Expressway.

As MPTC starts work to launch girders that will cross Skyway and SLEX, SMC said it expects higher traffic build-up on its expressways.

SMC said a stop-and-go scheme will be in effect from Oct. 6 to Nov. 15 from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m at Nichols Toll Plaza, C5 (at-grade) and Skyway Elevated segment between Magallanes and Bicutan in order to manage traffic in the area.
