MANILA - Real estate developer 8990 Holdings Inc on Monday said SM Hypermarket has signed as the lead tenant of its P452-million Deca Mall project in Tondo, Manila.

SM Hypermarket will occupy 3,073 square meters of the mall, making it the lead anchor tenant in the project set to open in 2019, 8990 Holdings told the stock exchange.

Urban Deca Homes Manila is the first large scale mixed used development to rise in the area, the developer claimed.

“By bringing in SM Hypermarket as the anchor tenant of Deca Mall, Urban Deca Homes residents and those from the environs no longer have to travel far for their everyday shopping needs,” said 8990 Holdings Inc president and chief executive officer Willie Uy.

“Ultimately, it’s all about delivering convenience and a better quality of life for Manileños," Uy added.

The two-storey mall, which has a total gross area of 18,000 square meters, will house 450 small and medium enterprise (SME) tenants, 8890 Holdings said.
