Globe sets up free calls, free charging stations in some Odette-hit VisMin areas

<h3>Globe restores services in Agusan del Sur, Camiguin</h3><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/12/18/lt.jpg" src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/12/18/lt.jpg"/></figure></div><p>Globe Telecommunications and Philippine Long Distance Telephone, Co. (PLDT) are working round the clock to restore their wireless communications in various areas severely affected by Typhoo Odette.</p><p>Globe on Saturday announced it has restored its services in typhoon-hit Agusan del Sur and Camiguin as of 4 p.m. even as it works on restoring communications in other areas.</p><ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/12/18/21/ndrrmc-confirms-4-deaths-due-to-odette">NDRRMC confirms 4 deaths due to &#x27;Odette,&#x27; damage toll being verified</a></li></ul><p>&quot;The lack of available commercial power as well as roadblocks are causing delays in restoring services in the hardest hit areas namely Cebu, Bohol and Siargao. These provinces experienced multiple fiber cuts,&quot; Globe said.</p><p>Meanwhile, PLDT-Smart Communications said it restored 94 percent of their wireless sites in Mindanao, as 97 percent of their fixed services were operational.</p><p>In Visayas, 64 percent of PLDT&#x27;s wireless site were already up, while 98 percent of their fixed services were also working. </p><p>&quot;We will work round-the-clock for the remaining areas left for restoration: Surigao del Norte, including Siargao and Dinagat islands, and Misamis Oriental,&quot; said PLDT president and CEO Al Panlilio.</p><p>&quot;Commercial power is still to be restored in Cebu province. We will push to restore services in hard hit areas in Cebu, Leyte, and Negros Occidental at the soonest possible time.&quot; </p><p>He added that their services in Palawan were already at 50 percent online, with services restored in the Northern part of the province. </p><p>Free calls, charging stations</p><p>Globe also set up &quot;Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging&quot; stations in the Visayas and Mindanao.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img alt="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/12/18/lt2.jpg" src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2021/news/12/18/lt2.jpg"/></figure></div><p>The stations were established at 14 sites, including:</p><p>1. Globe Switch J.A. Clarin, Tagbilaran City<br/>5.    Near Petron Gas Station, Brgy Ubujan, Tagbilaran City<br/>6.    Shell Station, Brgy. Songco, Borongan City, Eastern Samar<br/>7.    Gaisano Grand Parki Area, Brgy.Central, Orquin St., Calbayog City, Western Samar<br/>8.    Jaro Plaza in front of Jaro Cathedral Church, Jaro, Iloilo City<br/>9.    San Joaquin Gym, San Joaquin, Iloilo City<br/>10.    Sebayan Central Elementary School in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte<br/>11.    Rose Pharmacy National Highway (near Gaisano Mall), Malaybalay, Bukidnon<br/>12.    Brgy. Lumbo near Covered Court and Bus Stop, Valencia City, Bukidnon<br/>13.    Brgy. Carmen in front of DAR Macanhan, Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental<br/>14.    Main Road, Zone 3 , Brgy. Sta.
