Bougiotis Evangelos, EPA-EFE"/><span class="fr-inner">Tourists visit the Bourtzi Castle in Nafplio, Peloponnese, Greece, Aug. 5, 2023. <em>Bougiotis Evangelos, EPA-EFE</em> </span></span></span></div><p>MANILA (<strong>UPDATE</strong>) — Filipinos who want to live in Greece can now get a &#x27;Golden visa&#x27; to get residency by investing in the country, a consultancy firm said.</p><p>With an initial investment of €250,000, Filipinos can now invest in the Greek city of Patra, according to property marketing consultancy Golden Visa Centrale.</p><p>Patra is the third largest city in Greece and is a described as a thriving university hub. </p><p>According to Golden Visa Centrale president and founder Vicky Luis, residency rights particularly in a European state not only gives the investor more freedom to travel, but also gives their family more opportunities to study and live elsewhere.</p><p>They also enjoy the healthcare benefits in that country. </p><p>Luis believes Greece is a very good choice for a Filipino family’s second residence.</p><p> “They’re the 7th most visited country in Europe and 16th in the world. Climate is mediterranean with 3,000 sunny days… They have a very affordable cost of living and high quality of life… Very rich in history, very good culinary tradition, good food and healthcare which I’d like to highlight today, it’s ranking 14th in the world by the World Health Organization,” Luis said.</p><p>Those who invest get a five-year permanent residence visa with no stay requirement. They also get annual income and visa-free travel within Schengen countries.</p><p>There is also the possibility of reunification for up to three generations of family members, the consultancy said.</p><p>Over 60 countries globally offer golden visa programs.
