MANILA (UPDATE)  - Cebu Pacific said the operations of its low-cost subsidiary Cebgo will be transferred to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport's Terminal 2 from Terminal 4 next month.

The airport's private operator, the New NAIA Infrastructure Corp said T4 will be closed temporarily for renovation next month and may reopen next year.

Cebu Pacific said Cebgo flights will be transferred to T2 starting Nov. 7 and that passengers will be notified of this.

Cebgo's transfer follows an earlier announcement from boutique airline AirSWIFT that it will also be moving flights to Terminal 2. AirSWIFT is being acquired by Cebu Pacific from the Ayala group.

"Passengers are advised to update their contact details via the Manage Booking portal on the CEB website www.cebupacificair.com/manage-booking to receive flight reminders and updates. CEB requests passengers to check their terminal assignments in advance and allow extra time for travel to the airport," the Gokongwei-led carrier said.

The airline said this is part of its ongoing collaboration with the  (NNIC) to improve the efficiency of operations at NAIA.

The company said it supports the long-term vision of the NNIC, which took over the operations of NAIA last month.

NNIC earlier said that it was planning to reassign airlines to different terminals to streamline the airport's operations. The San Miguel Corp-led consortium however said the terminal reassignments were part of a long-term plan and that most airlines would keep operating in their current terminals.
