(NNIC) said it will tow cars that have been abandoned at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).</p><p>The NNIC said it recently discovered that some 20 cars have been abandoned at the country&#x27;s main gateway, with some having been left there as far back as 2014. </p><p>NNIC said it is giving owners one last chance to get their cars by waiving all applicable fees to pick these up. Owners must present proof of ownership and valid identification to reclaim their vehicles.</p><p>After this, unclaimed cars will be towed and impounded in a government facility. </p><div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1729154941385NAIA CARS.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" alt="Vehicles that were " at="" the="" NAIA="" parking="" facility.="" NNIC=""/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Vehicles that were &quot;abandoned&quot; at the NAIA parking facility. <em>NNIC Handout</em></span></span></span></div><p>“These abandoned vehicles are taking up space that should be available for passengers,&quot; the NNIC said. &quot;They are also a security and safety concern, especially in their deteriorating states.&quot;</p><p>Since taking over the airport last month, the NNIC has implemented a series of measures that it said are aimed at elevating the passenger experience at NAIA. </p><p>NNIC raised parking fees, especially overnight parking, which freed up many parking spots at the airport, as well as reduced congestion around the terminals.
