MANILA - Travelers need to prepare early for the expected rush in time for the All Saints Day holidays, airlines and the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) advised on Friday.

PITX said it expects foot traffic at the terminal to reach over 2.4 million from October 21 to November 5. The busiest days are projected to be on Oct. 30 and Oct. 31, PITX said.

"Passengers are encouraged to arrive early and to check the schedules of their respective buses ahead of time. PITX also advises passengers to strictly follow safety protocols and guidelines in place for a smoother and safer travel experience," the company said.

PITX said it is coordinating with various government agencies to ensure the smooth and safe passage of travelers heading to their respective provinces for the observance of All Saints’ Day.

Security will be beefed up at the terminal, while trips to provinces will be added to accommodate the expected influx of passengers. Buses will also be inspected for safety and security.

Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific are also expecting a surge of travelers during the Undas holidays.

The two airlines advise passengers to check the status of their flights before going to the airport, do online check-ins, stay within their baggage allowance, and prepare their travel documents ahead. Those traveling abroad should also fill up their e-Travel forms ahead of time. With traffic expected to get heavy in the coming days, travelers are also advised to go to the airport early: domestic travelers should be at the airport at least three hours before their flight, while international travelers should be there at least four hours before their flight.
