</style><p>Consumption  Increase</p><p>200 kwh          P85</p><p>300 kwh          P128</p><p>400 kwh          P171</p><p>500 kwh          P214</p><p>Meralco said generation charge went up by P0.2884 per kWh as charges from the independent power producers climbed by P0.9392, and charges from power supply agreements increased by P0.4295 per kWh.</p><p>The company said this was largely due to the peso&#x27;s depreciation against the dollar. The peso weakened from P56.111 in mid-August to P58.10 to a dollar at the end of October.</p><p>Transmission charge also increased by P0.0724 per kWh due to higher ancillary services charges.</p><div><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/business/2024/10/25/peso-slides-back-to-p58-to-dollar-level-1701" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Peso slides back to P58 to dollar level</a></div><p>Charges from the wholesale electricity spot market (WESM) also rose by P0.0150 per kWh.</p><p>Meanwhile, transmission charges climbed by P0.0724 per kW because of higher ancillary service charges from the WESM Reserve Market.</p><p>Taxes and other charges rose by P0.0666 per kWh.</p><p>Meralco rates went down in <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/business/2024/11/12/compose-coffee-helps-perk-up-jollibee-jan-sept-net-income-1014" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">October</a>.</p>
