MANILA -- The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) posted P6.81 billion in net income in 2023.
This was 53.27 percent higher than the P4.44 billion it earned in 2022.
Th higher earnings allowed the state gaming regulator contribute more to nation-building, said its chairman and chief executive officer Alejandro Tengco.

This was 53.27 percent higher than the P4.44 billion it earned in 2022.

PAGCOR says new logo meant to stop fraudulent transactions
In a statement, PAGCOR said it remitted P34.72 billion to the National Treasury. Of this, half or P17.36 billion will go to Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or PhilHealth, which provides free health care coverage to millions of poor Filipinos.
The Board of Claims under the Department of Justice will also receive P63.12 million, which will be used to compensate persons who have been wrongly imprisoned.
PAGCOR said licensed casinos in the country were the biggest contributors to its revenue, with P33.18 billion in contributions.
This was followed by the surging e-games sector ,which includes e-bingos, e-games, specialty games and sports betting. They contributed P21.66 billion.
