Jonathan Cellona, ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure>MANILA - Non-regular or contractual employees will now be given a share of the service charge collected by those in the service sector such as hotels and restaurants, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said Tuesday.   Labor Undersecretary Benjo Santos Benavidez said this follows the release of a Department Order which amends the implementing rules and regulations of the Republic Act Number 11360 or Service Charge Law.   “Dini-delete po natin iyong phrase na under the direct employment, ibig pong sabihin noon, lahat na po ng nakolekta na service charges ay ibibigay sa lahat po na mga manggagawa; ang mga manggagawa pong iyan ay either directly hired or hired by a legitimate contractor,” he said.   “Dahil po dito, mas marami na pong mga manggagawa ng mga hotels at restaurants ang makakatanggap ng service charge at dahil din po dito ay mas marami na pong mga benepisyo na matatanggap ang isang manggagawa, contractual man o hindi,” he added.   The new department order also stresses the recognition of benefits that were stated in the company’s policies for their workers.   “Iyong mga benepisyong nakapaloob po sa mga company policies at sa mga CBA ay kailangan pong ituluy-ituloy, otherwise iyon po ay inconsistent or offensive or that will run counter to the principle of non-diminutions of benefits,” he added.   “Samakatuwid, kung ano man po iyong mga natatanggap na po nila dati ay patuloy pa rin nilang matatanggap, kahit po nakapag-issue na po ng panibagong Implementing Rules and Regulation ng Republic Act 11360,” he added.   WAGE HIKE FOR DOMESTIC WORKERS   The DOLE also announced the approved increase in the minimum wage for domestic workers in Region IV-A or CALABARZON after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board released a new wage order.   “Doon po sa munisipyo na class second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth municipalities, ang minimum wage rate po ng mga kasambahay ay nagkakahalaga po ng 5,000 pesos. Para naman po sa mga siyudad at mga first class municipalities sa Calabarzon, ang kanila pong minimum wage rate ay sa halagang 6,000 pesos,” Usec Benavidez said.   “Iyon po lamang ay ang itinatakdang minimum wage rate, pero wala pong pagbabawal sa mga generous na mga employers o mga amo na magbigay po ng mas mataas pang sahod sa atin pong mga kasambahay,” he added.   Thirteen out of 16 regions have approved the wage hike for domestic workers, he said. <div> </div><div> </div>
