Nagpa-Patrol, Alvin Elchico. MANILA — Prices of diesel and gasoline are projected to increase by nearly P2 next week following Israel's deadly strikes on military and nuclear facilities of Iran on Friday.

The projection is based on the previous trading days on the Mean of Platts Singapore (MOPS) this week.

The following price adjustment is expected to take effect on Tuesday, June 17:

Gasoline:  P1.70 - P1.90/L increase

Diesel:       P1.70 - P1.90/L  increase

Kerosene: P1.40 - P1.60/L increase

The geopolitical tension between Israel and Iran primarily causes the increase, as each of their retaliating attacks is causing fear on the crude market.

Iran fired back a barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel on Friday after the latter's attack hammered the Islamic republic's nuclear facilities and bases.

The conflict between Ukraine and Russia is continuing as well. — with a report from Alvin Elchico, ABS-CBN News
