Converge Concierge with SkyTV launched

MANILA — Converge ICT Solutions has launched the Converge Concierge with SkyTV.

It’s a smart TV solution that is aimed to upgrade the Philippine hospitality sector with the use of fiber connectivity and technology.

Converge Chief Executive Officer Dennis Anthony Uy said the IT solution platform will streamline hotel operations and improve guest experience in hotels, resorts, service apartments, dormitories, and even hospitals. 

He said this is a first in the Philippines.

For hotels for example, the TV becomes not just an entertainment hub, but also an information platform that shows details about the property, as well as news and even flight status updates. 

Guests can also order food and request for other services like massage by just using the platform. Streaming app are also available and one can cast the screen of their phones to the TV easily.

“You can bring all your content on the screen. Guest experience, you can dine in order on the screen… Each room you have all access and a strong WIFI,” said Uy.

Uy said this is similar to what is seen in hotels abroad where customers can see many information on the TV and they too can purchase a meal or avail of any hotel service. 

This is bundled with Converge’s fiber internet connection.

The system integrates with the existing hotel property management system, streamlines bookings, and even billing processes making it convenient not just for the customer, but even the hotel as well. Through a single remote, guests can enjoy entertainment, games and other features like real-time billing, express check out, and more.

Uy added that this is an expansion of its partnership with Sky. 

He said many hotels nationwide are subscribed to Sky Cable and he wants those hotels to upgrade to Converge Concierge with SkyTV. But he added that other hotels that are not Sky Cable-connected can also use their new service.

Converge officials also clarified this new hospitality solutions is not just catered to major hotels, but can also be tapped by small hotels. There can be monthly subscription for smaller hotels and pricing differs depending on the number of rooms.

“It’s all a seamless experience for the customer and also a more efficient operations for the hotel. And this is a scalable platform. This is not only for the big hotels. This is also for the medium-sized, small hotels,” said Benjamin Azada, Chief Commercial Officer of Converge.

Aside from the hospitality sector, Converge also eyes to put up similar IT solutions in other sectors like education. 

They also plan to enter into the smart homes business where residents can control their home’s lighting, air-con among others with just a few clicks. Converge continues to invest in data centers and cloud service to help its businesses.
