He may have been in the entertainment industry for years now, but it was through his stints in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano that Jay Gonzaga has probably become a familiar face to Kapamilya viewers. And now, he’s been impressing us with her portrayal of Jaime de Guzman, a fraudulent motivational speaker and self-proclaimed digital marketing expert who is allies with antagonist Edward (Enzo Pineda) in the well-loved series Can’t Buy Me Love.

And in a recent exclusive interview with ent.abs-cbn.com, Jay talked about his guesting stint, wherein he shared that he prepared for the role by imitating the characteristics and nuances of motivational speakers that he knows and has watched. Besides, he’s also thankful that their directors have been so generous in giving him tips and advice that he gets to apply to his character.

When asked for trivia about his experience in the teleserye, Jay initially revealed that he only got the script upon his arrival on the set on that seminar scene that he got to share with Donny Pangilinan. It might be quite hasty, but he chose not to let himself be stressed out by just doing his job as an actor and memorizing and delivering his lines well.

According to him, it is just normal in this industry, so one must always be ready. Nonetheless, they were able to successfully do it with just one take and exert the energy required in the scene.

He also imparted that it was his second time working with Enzo Pineda and described him as a generous actor who gives him key points. He then added that they’re a happy set in Can’t Buy Me Love.
