(UPDATED) A suspiciously verified page claiming to be that of the country&#x27;s National Museum of Natural History early Friday shared sexually explicit videos on Facebook. The post was shared at 12:10 a.m. Friday, and it took more than half a day for them to be removed. It spawned &quot;hacked&quot; jokes at the expense of the museum and, eventually, a response from those who run the official page of the National Museum of the Philippines. <div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/tvpatrol/03/11/20190314-national-museum.jpg"/></figure></div>The statement read: &quot;We would like to inform the public that our ONLY OFFICIAL Facebook Account is the NATIONAL MUSEUM OF THE PHILIPPINES.&quot;&quot;There are no other official accounts bearing the name of the National Museum, making that FB account illegitimate and its contents regarding NMNH merely shared and not &#x27;hacked.&#x27;&quot;We regret the offense that these sexually explicit videos may have caused the public, which is the work of malicious and ill-intentioned persons. FOR YOUR INFORMATION AND GUIDANCE.&quot; The page where the statement is posted is unverified by Facebook, but ABS-CBN News was able to confirm that it is an official page. ABS-CBN News has also reached out to Facebook on how the fake page got its verified status. The National Museum of Natural History, which houses a replica of Lolong, the world&#x27;s largest crocodile in captivity, opened to the public in <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/life/05/18/18/look-national-museum-of-natural-history-opens-to-public">May </a>last year.
