One reason that Narda (Jane de Leon) and Brian (Joshua Garcia)’s tandem is so refreshingly easy to the eyes is they engage in more adorable ‘bardagulan’ instead of heavy drama. Check out their cutest bickering moments in Mars Ravelo’s Darna via this Kapamilya Toplist.

The video opens with teenage Narda saving Brian from Noah (Paolo Gumabao)’s gang, showing off her intense fight skills from her rigorous training with her mom Leonor (Iza Calzado). The two exchanged charming banter, with Narda telling Brian to avoid lop-sided fights next time.

They met again as adults when Narda helped the cops chase a thief. He recognized her as the intrusive high school girl who fought the bullies. Narda, on the other hand, was puzzled as to why the handsome cop seems casual.

The familiarity would set in on their next meeting. Narda is surprised by Brian showing up at the convenience store she works to investigate the commotion caused by a supernatural villain dubbed Strength Man (Jerald Napoles). She confronted him for laughing off her seemingly exaggerated stories, sparking off another round of ‘asaran.’

Jane and Joshua naturally coat their scenes with old-school charm like when they had their first rescue mission, he as a cop, and she as a medic officer. Narda poked fun at Brian’s seemingly tense reaction upon seeing her. “Makapag-alala, akala boyfriend,” she said, to which he replied, “Kadiri ka.”

Brian’s playful ‘hirits’ complements Narda’s innocence, keeping their scenes delightful. Case in point: Their conversation inside his car after rescuing Javier (Dominic Ochoa)’s wife. Narda said Brian's presence made her feel safer but he brushes off the ‘kilig’ by ribbing her “perfect attendance” in every riot in Nueva Esperanza.

The next scene was a pleasant surprise, with him hugging her in front of the villagers, relieved that she went home safe. They argued like lovers whispering so the ‘Marites’ neighbors wouldn’t hear. She says he’s using his “ninja moves” and asks if his job is to act like her boyfriend.

His instinct works naturally when it comes to Narda. Listening to his hunches, he was able to rescue her from a group of abductors, although clueless that Narda actually saved the victims by morphing into her superhero form. He was overjoyed to see her safe, thus he teased, “Tingnan mo ang dungis mo.”

We bet you also smiled when Brian quipped, “Makayakap ka naman! Naligo ka na ba?” as Narda hugged him in the hospital. Add to that when he blurted out, “Ingat ka baka ma-fall ka sa akin,” as Narda kept on rubbing in his good deeds. He also told her, “Huwag ka kasi magselos” when he confessed his little crush on Darna. Sometimes he’d tell her that Darna is gorgeous and sexy and “lamang ng ilang paligo.” Lol.

In reality, though, it is Brian who feels jealous and we’re not complaining because he’s so cute when possessive. In a scene, he learned from Lola Berta (Rio Locsin) that Narda let a good-looking stranger drive her home. So, he interrogated her about this and smiled when she said he is definitely more handsome than the guy, who is Noah.

Also in this video is when he told her to step out of the police investigations because she’s a civilian and that she is not Darna who can save herself. Narda turned her back and thought, “Akala mo lang.”

The two reminded us of youthful friends-turned-crushes trope when they argued adorably and ended up playing ‘habulan’ in Lola Berta’s house. Then, we were blessed with sky-high ‘kilig’ when she found him in an isolated cell where the ‘Dark Brian’ held him captive. When they arrived at Lola Berta’s house, Brian failed to control his emotions and kissed Narda. She kissed back but came to her senses and slapped him, sparking off another sweet banter.
