Dirty Linen” is highly praised for its aggressive narrative that sheds light on important issues such as injustice and greed of the rich and privileged. But even a controversial plot wouldn’t be as striking without a formidable cast ensemble in command of their characters. In this series, every cast member has their own brilliance to showcase. But together, they create a compelling harmony of different acting styles.

And because we can’t get enough of their mesmerizing talent, Kapamilya Chat requested some “Dirty Linen” stars to take on an acting challenge in which they must repeat their most trending scene from the series – with a twist!

John Arcilla proves that he’s one acting virtuoso

No matter where he is and whatever the script says, ask John Arcilla to act and he will completely dominate, like what happened in this challenge. In Gen Z slang, the actor ate and left no crumbs!

Kapamilya Chat asked him to deliver his trending line in “Dirty Linen – “You don’t get to make me feel small, not you, not anybody else” – sans the hint of menace he exuded in the original scene. This time, he must utter the dialogue based on the given scenario.

In the first round, he must say it as if he won the lottery. Next, he must act extremely sad. It might be just a short dialogue, but John was able to make himself cry within those few seconds.

He switched to romantic and then scared. He e took the game seriously, while we were left gawking at his intense brilliance.

Elisse Joson transitions from flirty to quirky

As the then-newest addition to the cast, Elisse Joson gamely accepted our dare. When she delivered her dialogue as Sophie Madrigales – “Kulang lang ‘yan sa Sophie TLC. Now that I’m here, I’m gonna make sure he gets lots of it” – as if she just won the lottery, the fierce and flirty tone in the original scene was replaced by high energy. Then, she quickly switched to sad emotions, followed by sweet and ‘kilig.’

In the final rounds, she expressed fear while saying her line, as well as acted as if she was holding her pee.

The stars of “Dirty Linen” have received praise for their nuanced ‘mata-mata’ acting or just using their eye expressions to great effect. Of course, Elisse was more than ready to steal the scene with only her fierce and seductive gazes.

Christian Bables and his “pang-best actor” performance

To become a great actor, you have to be able to do many things at once – to really soak up the character’s emotions so that the script comes across as lived and felt. Christian Bables certainly possesses this quality, so much so that he can switch emotions in a snap.

Kapamilya Chat dared the award-winning actor to re-enact one of his trending scenes from “Dirty Linen” where he said, “Hindi mamamatay-tao ang pamilya ko. Kayo ng pamilya mo ang mamamatay-tao. Itaga mo ‘yan sa utak mo,” sans the rage he exuded in the original. This time, he must deliver the dialogue as if he’s super sad. Next, he must act “naglalambing”, which he did by flashing his charming smile and some ‘pabebe’ gestures. Then he switched to feeling anxious.

Christian completely slayed the challenge!

Jennica Garcia’s hypnotic “mata-mata” acting

During the pilot week, Jennica Garcia trended online for her enthralling performance in that scene where she disguised herself as an old lady. Viewers were mesmerized by how she was able to radiate worry toward Alexa (Janine Gutierrez), then, evil satisfaction upon seeing Aidan (Zanjoe Marudo) caught in their trap – just through her eyes.

She re-enacted the scene, then, revealed, “Basically, ang una kong na-feel doon is worry, ‘Si Alexa! Okay ba ‘yung kapatid ko?’ Tapos nu’ng nakita ko na okay ‘yung kapatid ko, nagawa‘yung plano. Sa isip ko after, ‘Huli!’”

There’s no small or big scene for Jennica. She believes everything in the script is an important element in the story. So, with or without a line, expect her to be on fire.

Don’t miss the finale episode of “Dirty Linen,” this Friday, August 25, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
