MANILA—Besides its grand winners, "Pilipinas Got Talent" (PGT) has produced a number of recgonizable names, whose careers took off in line with their respective talents.

With national TV exposure and approving comments from superstar-judges, the local iteration of the global "Got Talent" format has been a springboard to greater success for numerous acts, including both champions and runners-up.

As "Pilipinas Got Talent" opens it sixth season Saturday, here's a look at 7 personalities and 1 group that have remained active or made it big in showbiz after they graduated from the show.

JOVIT BALDIVINO

Winner, Season 1

Since clinching the top prize of "PGT's" maiden season in 2010, the Batangueño singer has released four albums and even acted in a number of ABS-CBN shows, such as "Growing Up" and "Juan dela Cruz." He has been a regular performer on "ASAP," ABS-CBN's weekly concert variety show.

MARKKI STROEM

Grand finalist, Season 1

Stroem may have been edged out by fellow singer Baldivino for the title, but he found success as an actor and stage performer in the years following his "PGT" bid. He has starred in at least four major theater productions, and appeared in at least five films, and that's excluding acting roles on television.

GERPHIL FLORES

Semifinalist, Season 1

Her second shot at fame was a case of déjà vu for this classical singer, who, four years after reaching the semifinals of "PGT," placed second in the Asia-wide version of the talent search in 2015. She earned a supporter in renowned international composer David Foster, who brought her straight to the semifinals of "Asia's Got Talent" with the "golden buzzer."

MARCELITO POMOY

Winner, Season 2

Best known for his "doble kara" performances, Pomoy's Season 2 win launched his music career, with two albums under his belt and a regular billing on "ASAP".

KHALIL RAMOS

Runner-up, Season 3

This singer placed second to Season 3 champion Maasinhon Trio, and went on to release an album after "PGT". However, he found bigger success as an actor, with several starring roles on TV and in films. Ramos was most recently seen on the big screen in "2 Cool 2 Be 4gotten," and on TV in "La Luna Sangre".

EL GAMMA PENUMBRA

Grand finalist, Season 3

This shadow theater group had no shortage of guest appearances on TV and other major events following its grand-finalist finish in "PGT". Four years later in 2015, El Gamma Penumbra made international waves when it brought to "Asia's Got Talent" its timely societal messages, eventually winning the entire competition.

PAULINE AGUPITAN

Semi-finalist, Season 3

Only 11 when she joined "PGT" in 2011, this singer failed to secure a spot in the grand finals of the talent search. But this, she managed six years later when she joined "Tawag ng Tanghalan," where she finished runner-up to Noven Belleza.

EUMEE CAPILE

Top 36, Season 4

She may have only finished in the top 36 in "PGT's" fourth season, but this singer soared higher in another ABS-CBN talent search, "Tawag ng Tanghalan," three years later in 2016. Capile's powerful voice earned her a slot in the grand finals of the show, alongside fellow "PGT" graduate Pauline Agupitan.
