MANILA -- Trophies aren't everything.

Aga Muhlach wanted to make sure his fans knew this after he was again asked for his thoughts on not being named the best actor of the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

Muhlach was nominated for his portrayal of a mentally challenged man who ends up in jail after being wrongly accused of a crime in the local adaptation of the Korean movie "Miracle in Cell No. 7."

He ultimately lost to Allen Dizon of "Mindanao."

Muhlach, who has more than a dozen best actor trophies under his belt from different award-giving bodies, said that he was quick to accept the loss as he has learned "not to expect."

"Ang tropeo ko para sa akin ay kapag ang pelikula ko ay pinanuod nila," he told "Tonight with Boy Abunda."

It was revealed this Wednesday that the 2019 MMFF grossed P955 million, with a bulk of the total ticket sales coming from, organizers said, four of the eight official entries.

This includes Muhlach's "Miracle in Cell No. 7," together with "The Mall, the Merrier," "3pol Trobol: Huli Ka Balbon!", and "Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity."
