Janine Gutierrez and her switch to the Kapamilya network continues, the latest from her grandmother, Pilita Corrales. </p><p>“I am very happy for her and I want to wish her all best,” Corrales told ABS-CBN News over the weekend. </p><p>Gutierrez’s contract signing with ABS-CBN Friday was widely hailed by netizens as a new chapter in her career which was recently capped by two major best actress awards from the FAMAS and Gawad Urian. </p><p>“After winning best actress, she can do anything she wants, kahit na villain. She can do any role because she is serious with her work,” Corrales said, before she made her final quip, “She’ll do very well and besides she looks like her grandmother!” </p><p>The music icon also sees no issue at speculations Gutierrez may play Darna’s snake lady nemesis, Valentina, in a future project. </p><p>“Kayang kaya niya &#x27;yan,&quot; exclaimed Corrales who portrayed the role in a 1994 film version. “Kinaya ko rin &#x27;yon kahit tunay na ahas nilagay sa ulo ko!” </p><p>Corrales&#x27;s and Gutierrez’s beauty and charisma have an uncanny resemblance, highlighted by their Castillian features. But more than that, Asia’s Queen of Song appreciates the kindness of her granddaughter. </p><p>“Napakabait na bata, she and the other grandchildren are with me on Sundays. Minsan maglalambing, may hihiramin, okay, wala nang balikan,&quot; she said. </p><p>Corrales, who Gutierrez calls &quot;mamita,&quot; has also no issue with Gutierrez’s love life. “Mabait naman si Rayver (Cruz)!” </p><p>The veteran singer, who has been working since the late 1950s, is also grateful that members of her family continue to work amid the pandemic. </p><p>“Thank God for work!
