The so-called “ViceJack” love story on “It’s Showtime” had little in its way toward a happy ending — that is, until the arrival of the “Kuya Escort” character now played by Ion Perez.

Following recent speculation as to the real-life score between Perez and Vice Ganda, the love triangle that also involves Jackque Gonzaga has, as expected, taken more dramatic turns.

In character as “Ate Girl” on Friday, Gonzaga advised Vice Ganda not to trust people who are unlikely to commit seriously, pertaining to Perez.

Perez protested this, saying, “Subukan mo muna, para hindi mo sabihin na manloloko ako, para mapatunayan ko na hindi ako ganun.”

At least according to Vice Ganda’s co-hosts and close friends, that has certainly been the case in recent weeks. But in the face of incessant teasing on “It’s Showtime,” the comedian would only playfully respond, giving no serious confirmation.

“Gustong-gusto mo naman,” Gonzaga told Vice Ganda on Friday, triggering laughter in the studio. “Sinabi lang na subukan, rumupok ka na… Iniisip nga kita, pinangangalagaan nga kita, tapos mahuhulog ka sa lolokohin ka lang.”

Perez, however, kept insisting otherwise, at least as “Kuya Escort.” Whether the defense rings true in real life, too, remains to be seen, as Vice Ganda’s co-hosts show no signs of stopping their inside jokes and anecdotes about the supposed romance.
