'Huwag makalimot': Cherry Pie Picache has a reminder to young actors

Photo from Dreamscape Entertainment." src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2023/news/02/09/cherry-pie-picache-02092023.jpg"/><figcaption>Cherry Pie Picache. <em>Photo from Dreamscape Entertainment.</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA -- Actress Cherry Pie Picache has a reminder to young actors who are currently enjoying success in the entertainment industry. </p><p>In a press conference for the series &quot;FPJ&#x27;s Batang Quiapo,&quot; Picache said she hopes the young stars would remember to help others, especially senior actors.</p><p>&quot;Sana kapag tumanda ako katulad ni Pen (Medina), sana sa mga batang artista na henerasyon ngayon, sana merong isang Coco Martin na magbibigay halaga sa mga elder actors. ...Kasi kung anuman ang pinundar nila, &#x27;yun din ang nagbigay ng inspirasyon, ng leksyon sa &#x27;ming mga batang artista,&quot; Picache said. </p><p>&quot;Sana kaming nasa edad ngayon, sa mga batang henerasyon ngayon na artista, it&#x27;s not just about social media, it&#x27;s not just about how many likes you have or your followers. It&#x27;s your dedication to your craft and it&#x27;s how kind and dedicated and committed you work with other people, hindi lang sa co-actors mo (kung &#x27;di) sa lahat ng parte ng team. Ang sinasabi niya nga kanina, bakit hindi mo bibigyan ng pagkakataon kasi minsan di ba, pagkakataon lang ang kailangan para maipakita &#x27;yung biyaya na binibigay sa kanila ng Diyos at &#x27;yun ang ipinagkakaloob at sine-share generously ni Coco. Ssalamat,&quot; she said. </p><p>Picache said she is proud of Martin&#x27;s growth as an actor. </p><p>&quot;Dati kasama ko si Coco sa isang indie film, &#x27;Foster Child.&#x27; Noon pa man sobrang sipag na niya kasi magsisimula kami ng alas siyete ng umaga magsu-shooting, matatapos kami, gabi. Si Coco andoon lang sa isang tabi, kaibigan na namin siya, kakilala na. Sasabihin namin, &#x27;Co, ano ginagawa mo diyan?&#x27; (Sasabihin niya,) &#x27;Naghihintay lang ako baka kailangan ng talent, maglalakad o mag-aano basta andito lang ako.&#x27; Hindi talaga siya umaalis kaya noon pa man sobrang hard working na &#x27;yan.&quot; </p><p>&quot;I just really feel blessed ...Sinabi niya kanina mahirap siyang katrabaho kasi masipag siya, &#x27;yung commitment niya tsaka dedication niya sa craft niya, sa creativity niya, sa trabaho niya and I love working with these kinds of people, so nagpapasalamat ako na kasama ako.&quot; </p><p>Asked why he helps other actors, Martin recalled how he started his acting career from nothing. </p><p>&quot;Nagsimula rin ako sa wala. Sabi ko nga dati ano lang ako eh, extra. First acting experience ko, minura ako ng direktor tapos pinapapalitan ako. Mahirap &#x27;yung pinagdaanan ko bago ako naging ganap na artista talaga. Hindi man totally pag-aartista ang pangarap ko, ang hirap nung oportunidad,&quot; Martin said. </p><p>&quot;Naranasan ko dati kahit nag-eextra ka na, ngayon meron, six months wala. Nung nag-iindie films ako naranasan ko P2,000 lang &#x27;yung binayad sa &#x27;kin, ako bida sa buong pelikula. Kumbaga talagang gapang,&quot; he added.</p><p>Martin said that it&#x27;s always a must to help others as long as they also value their craft as artists.</p><p>&quot;Ngayon na kahit papaano may pagkakataon ka or nasa kamay ko na makatulong, bakit ko ipagkakait? Eh kasi &#x27;yan &#x27;yung hinihintay ko dati para mabuhay ko &#x27;yung pamilya ko. Kaya &#x27;yung nakikita ko &#x27;yung mga tao na kung pupwede kong tulungan at nakikita kong deserving, bakit hindi? Bakit ko pahihirapan pa?
