'OTWOL': Clark finally punches Simon

MANILA - On Wednesday’s episode of “On the Wings of Love,” Simon (Paulo Avelino) finally gets a much-deserved punch.

After handing Leah (Nadine Lustre) the divorce papers he signed, Clark (James Reid) leaves his furniture exhibit to take a breather. Simon follows him and begins to taunt Clark about how he gave Leah everything she wanted and more.

“Thank you because you gave up on her,” says Simon, who, years back, offered Leah a job in Dubai to forward her career and help pay for her father’s heart transplant. “Nag-bloom siya into the best version she could be, and hindi mangyayari iyon kung naiwan siya sa Pilipinas dahli sa iyo.”

His words did not sit well with Clark, who punches Simon in the face. “Lahat ng narating niya ay dahil sa kakayahan niya, hindi dahil sa iyo. You think you saved her? You’re not a hero, Simon!”

Clark then goes home and talks to Tita Jack (Cherry Pie Picache), who is still trying to convince her nephew into reconsidering his decision to divorce Leah. Clark simply tells her: “I want her to fight for me. Dapat mangaling sa kanya ang decision na tumaya sa relationship na ito.”

Simon, meanwhile, accompanies Leah home. After learning of the divorce papers, he tries to make a move on his “partner” by confessing his feelings yet again and trying to kiss her, but Leah turns her face away. Taking a hint, he leaves and begins to break down.

Leah then admits to her sister and father that it was her fault that her marriage with Clark fell apart. “Ipaglalaban ko na ho si Clark, kakausapin ko siya at sasabihin ko na mahal ko siya,” she says. “Gagawin ko po lahat para tanggapin niya ako. Dahil mahal na mahal ko po si Clark.”

It proves to be a little late as Clark already left for the Philippines following the successful launch of his furniture brand abroad to focus on the other projects of his business.

Leah, of course, follows him. Unknown to her, however, Clark scores a huge contract with a French company, meaning he will have to stay in France for at least six months.

Directed by Antoinette Jadaone and Jojo Saguin, "On the Wings of Love" airs weeknights after "Dolce Amore." It will air its finale on Friday.
