Alex Gonzaga came to the defense of her boyfriend Mikee Morada after a just-released vlog of the TV star Thursday attracted intrigue and speculation among her followers.

The 10-minute vlog, which chronicled Gonzaga and Morada's resort getaway in La Union, showed the couple in a room along with friends, and the actress apparently testing her boyfriend's patience with her usual comedic antics.

At one point in the video, a quiet Morada was shown giving the middle finger as Gonzaga and a friend made him the subject of their jokes while inside a moving vehicle.

"Hindi ko 'yan i-e-edit out, bahala ka," she said.

The exchange caught the attention of a number of Gonzaga's million-strong viewers, with one tagging the Kapamilya star on Twitter in a comment disapproving of Morada's gesture.

The viewer's tweet, addressing Gonzaga, read: "Ilang ulit kong binalikan yung dirty finger scene. Alam mo Alex, alam kong mahal mo siya pero makakahanap ka pa ng lalaking rerespeto sa'yo."

"'Yung asawa ko, asshole to the highest level pero hindi niya ako nagawan ng ganun. Especially na kasama ko friend ko at nagbi-video ka pa. I can't help lang but compare your sister's husband with him," the follower added, referring Gonzaga's sister, Toni, and her husband, film director Paul Soriano.

The comment continued: "Sana sabayan na lang niya pang-aasar mo. Ang tagal niyo na, ang pikon-pikon pa rin niya. Before naman naging kayo, loka-loka ka na. Nakakalungkot lang ng very light."

The tweets prompted Gonzaga to come to the defense of Morada. On Twitter, the 30-year-old actress explained that her boyfriend, who has appeared in a number of her vlogs prior, only makes the gesture so she would edit snippets of him out from her final cut.

"Wow, strong words," Gonzaga said in her reply. "If it's real and that's how he really treats me I would've never showed it. He does that always para i-edit out ko but the JOKE is I didn't. I covered it but with a bad emoji din. It's the humor. If di nakakatawa skip ad nalang muna. #KapagMayKatwiranIpaglabanMo"

But that wasn't the only part of the video that sowed intrigue. In numerous parts of the vlog, Morada was shown in the same hotel room as Gonzaga. While they were with another companion in those portions, some fans of Gonzaga took Morada's presence to mean they had shared the room as a couple.

One tweet, also addressing Gonzaga, pointed out the fact that the actress' older sister, Toni, had been open about the strict rules of their parents against sharing a bed or going on solo trips with a man, until marriage.

The speculation -- that Gonzaga was supposedly allowed by her parents to go out-of-town with Morada -- was immediately corrected by the "ASAP" mainstay.

She said, unedited: "It wasn't an overnight w Mikee. His whole family were there too coz the gf of Mikee's tito invited us. Hindi ko lang napakita. This US trip was for my hs bff wedding naman w my whole barkada. Mikee is a citizen and he used to live here so he came w us. Yes, nagexplain ako sayo."

Gonzaga and Morada first made public their relationship in January 2017. At the time, Morada said one of the reasons he was drawn to Gonzaga was her upbringing, citing the traditional family values she and her sister have been vocal of having learned from their parents.
