have a grand wedding last March 14 but due to concerns about the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), their original plan did not push through.</p><p>In a series posts on Instagram and Instagram Stories, event stylist Gideon Hermosa narrated how the couple arrived at the decision of postponing the big celebration in favor of an intimate civil wedding for now.</p><p>According to Hermosa, his team was already at the Shangri-La at the Fort as early as March 12 to start designing the ballroom where the wedding was supposed to be held.</p><p>“A couple of days ago, we already started doing the ingress for this event. With synergy, me and my team were inspired to pour all our efforts &amp; passion in creating this dream wedding,” he said.</p><p>However, they learned that the grand wedding won’t take place since the whole Metro Manila will be placed under community quarantine beginning March 15.</p><p>“We were really heartbroken and we really didn&#x27;t give up and still, we continued decorating until the notice was official. The best, high quality, beautiful flowers came from abroad waiting to be creatively played in the most awaited ceremony. Seeing these flowers as they arrive at the venue gave me hope that after this, there will be a better day,” he said.</p><p>While saddened by development, Hermosa received a phone call that turned everything around.</p><p>“As I came home, someone called, just like the flowers that phone call, gave me hope and made me rise again as I was down for the whole day. Against all odds, Richard and Sarah decided to have a simple civil wedding,” he said.</p><p>Hermosa said despite the virus threat and the community quarantine, it was heartwarming to see that the couple’s love prevailed. </p><p>“I am truly happy and grateful that this wedding came to life not as big as we expected it to be but it came as beautiful as their love for each other,” he said.</p><p>On Instagram Saturday night, the couple shared photos of their very intimate wedding, featuring only a small number of guests and their first kiss as a married couple.</p><p>&quot;I have you and it&#x27;s enough. It&#x27;s everything,&quot; both of them said in their identical announcement.</p><p>Gutierrez and Lahbati got engaged in 2017. They have two sons, Zion and Kai.</p>
