'Getting better’: Ria Atayde gives update on mom Sylvia Sanchez’s COVID-19 diagnosis

<p>MANILA — Ria Atayde reported that her parents, Sylvia Sanchez and Art Atayde, “seem to be getting better,” hours after it was revealed that the couple was diagnosed with coronavirus (COVID-19).</p><p>“We’re all doing okay actually,” Ria told ABS-CBN News’ Gretchen Fullido via a text message. “Mom and dad seem to be getting better as the days come along. href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/03/31/20/sylvia-sanchez-husband-test-positive-for-covid-19">tested for the virus</a> on March 24. They were brought to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan, and then self-isolated in their home. </p><p>According to Ria, no one else in her parents’ household has exhibited symptoms of the coronavirus so far, but they are continually taking it “a day it a time” with regards to monitoring the situation. </p><p>Sanchez is the third celebrity to test positive for the novel coronavirus after Christopher de Leon and Iza Calzado. </p><p>De Leon has since been <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/03/25/20/christopher-de-leon-discharged-from-hospital-now-on-home-quarantine">discharged from the hospital</a>, while Calzado is now <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/03/30/20/iza-calzado-now-tests-negative-for-covid-19-due-for-hospital-discharge">free from the virus</a>.</p>
