Ehra Madrigal opened up about the sea mishap that she and fellow actress Bianca Manalo got into in Antique last Thursday.

The incident left her, her husband, and their friends floating in the ocean as they waited for help for three hours.

On Instagram, Madrigal said she is more than grateful that she survived the accident.

“Lord, thank you so much for this second life! Three hours in that sea was no joke! My life is forever changed after this tragic accident,” she said.

“Still recuperating at home and taking meds and antibiotics because I have pneumonia and asthma from drinking sea water and inhaling too much gasoline.”

Although she has bruises, sunburn, and bouts of anxiety, Madrigal said the accident strengthened her spirit.

“I just have so much love to give! Will get better because I can’t wait to see and hug all my loved ones and friends soon,” she said.

She also thanked everyone who reached out to her when they learned about the accident.

“To everyone who messaged, I’m not sure if I received everything since we didn’t have phones from Thursday to Monday, but please know that it meant a whole lot! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! Your messages, prayers, love, and concern help in my healing. Love and light to all,” she said.

Also with Madrigal and beauty queen Manalo were the latter’s politician-boyfriend, Jonathan Tan, and other friends.

The speedboat they were on capsized en route from Pandan to Mararison Island.

Tan and one companion, Torrebeo Barrientos, swam toward the shore as they sought help.

The swim lasted two hours and spanned four kilometers, Tan recalled, until they were finally noticed by a group of fishermen.

They immediately sped back to Madrigal and Manalo’s group who had been waiting for rescue.
