MANILA — Veteran actor Tirso Cruz III expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the frontliners who are risking their lives while battling the coronavirus disease COVID-19.

On Instagram, Cruz's wife Lynn Ynchausti shared a video of the actor clapping his hands to honor the frontliners.

In the caption, Ynchausti explained that she and Cruz have a soft spot for the frontliners because their son TJ, who passed away in November 2018, worked for a hospital in Taguig.

“Our eldest son TJ worked for St. Luke’s Medical Center Global for 8 years until he journeyed with cancer May of 2018 and he passed away Nov. 21 of the same year. If he were alive today, definitely he’d be one of the frontliners at SLMC," Ynchausti wrote in the caption.

"So the other day, my husband thought of going out at our terrace, clapped his hands at 5 p.m. to honor and thank the doctors, nurses, staff, the hospital cleaners (I remember Ate Rose, one of the cleaners at the 9th floor for cancer patients whom TJ would greet and thank for cleaning his room), not only the frontliners at SLMC, but all over the Philippines and the whole world.

"And all the frontliners who are sacrificing their lives to help us in one way or the other, thank you so much! We honor you, we are grateful for you, we appreciate you, and we are praying for all of you. May the good Lord bless you and your families and may He keep us all safe and protected always from this pandemic,” Ynchausti added.
