Two weeks after the abrupt death of her character, Mayari, in "Bagani," Sofia Andres has finally addressed a circulating rumor as to the reason behind her exit from the top-rating fantaserye.

Mayari, originally billed as one of the five main heroes in "Bagani," died in the April 5 episode of the Star Creatives production, after she was struck by lightning unleashed by the vengeful deity Sarimaw (Ryan Eigenmann).

Fans of the show were shocked by the suddenness of Mayari's fate, especially as the character had been built up as a vital part of forming the Baganis.

Some theorized she would be back through some form of twist, but the scene of Mayari's funeral, and her subsequent removal from promotional materials of "Bagani," appeared to confirm her exit was sealed.

Since then, neither Andres nor Star Creatives has given a reason for Mayari's death, until Thursday, when the actress took to Twitter to set straight a rumor about her departure from the primetime series.

On Twitter, she wrote: "It's not true that I'm going to transfer network. I'm proud to be a Kapamilya. Have a nice day, everybody!"

The tweet was her response to speculation that her unexpected exit had something to do with switching TV networks. However, she did not address another rumor that the removal was connected to her admittedly disinterested demeanor when talking with the press, which she had already apologized for.

Meanwhile, in another indication that Mayari will no longer be returning, the "Bagani" character of Zaijan Jaranilla, Liksi, appears to be in the wings to become a Bagani himself, in recent episodes of the show.
