Liza assures netizen Enrique is a gentleman

MANILA – Liza Soberano came to the defense of Enrique Gil when a netizen criticized him for supposedly not being a gentleman.

The issue stemmed from Gil’s video on Instagram where he can be seen getting off a jet ahead of Soberano. Instead of helping her, Gil proceeded to talking to the camera that seemed to be documenting their trip.

This irked a netizen and wrote: “Kahit may paa, a gentleman will always help a lady. If he forgets that then he is not a gentleman. It’s a habit na hindi dapat kalimutan. Parang nag mamano sa mga matanda if a person is magalang. That’s my opinion.”

However, Soberano was quick to address the netizen’s concern.

“Do not worry I personally asked Quen to not make me ‘alalay’ when going down the jet for the video. Quen is a gentleman, I will always be the first one to testify for him,” she said.

She also reminded the netizen that she is a “strong lady” who can handle herself.

Despite the comment, Gil did not seem to be affected by the criticism as he only wrote “Haha” in the comments section of his post.

Gil and Soberano are two of the lead stars of the ABS-CBN series “Bagani.”
