She did not give further details.The project appears to cement Barretto’s showbiz comeback, as she is also set to star in the April 27 episode of “MMK” alongside Jameson Blake.It will follow the life story of RJ Cunanan, a dancer whose dreams are sidelined because of a condition that paralyzes parts of his body. Barretto portrays RJ’s mother, Vhing, while breakout actor Blake plays the young dancer.A career revival has been overdue for Barretto, who revealed she had originally been poised to resume her “Optimum Star” moniker in 2015, when she starred in “Etiquette for Mistresses.”That plan, however, was aborted as she fell ill at the time, and had to undergo six operations in a span of four months, she revealed for the first time in the Thursday interview. Her medication then, she said, also caused her to gain weight.Acknowledging she wasn’t yet ready to talk about the condition, Barretto emphasized that she is now well and feels ready to take on more roles.
