CEBU CITY - Cast members of ABS-CBN's hit daytime series “Be Careful With My Heart" showed their support on the candidacy of actor Richard Yap, who is running as congressman of Cebu City's north district.

Actresses Jodi Sta. Maria and Sylvia Sanchez joined the free concerts and campaigned for Yap in 2 villages in Cebu City Thursday night.

"It was like a mini reunion especially that there was Jodi singing. She said yes kaagad without hesitation," the congressional candidate told ABS-CBN News.

Singer Angeline Quinto also attended the event and sang OPM songs to the Cebuano audience.

During the event, Yap claimed that the Cebu City Hall prevented him from holding the concert at the IC3 Convention Center in Barangay Mabolo.

“We’ve done concerts sa IC3, pero wala namang hinihingi na special permit kasi nga free concert. Ngayon lang. Pinulitika tayo. Weeks before it was okay na sana and suddenly nag-no," he said.

The free concerts were held instead in Barangays Talamban and Lorega-San Miguel. - Report from Donna Lavares, ABS-CBN News
