MANILA -- Jerome Ponce will no longer be part of the upcoming movie “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wifi.”

This was confirmed by cast member Jameson Blake in an interview with entertainment site Push.

While he did not share the reason, Blake revealed that Markus Paterson has already replaced Ponce in the Jun Robles Lana movie.

Blake also explained that they shot the trailer first, before they began filming the actual movie, which explains why Ponce was still in the teaser.

“We just started shooting the movie recently lang. Dapat kasama ko si Jerome Ponce pero hindi na namin siya kasama. Si Markus Paterson na 'yung kasama ko doon. Direk Jun was still finalizing the script kaya medyo late kami nag-start,” he said.

As of writing, Blake said the movie, which also stars Sue Ramirez, is about 35% finished.

Based on its teaser, “Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wifi” is about Norma who suffers from electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrome. This prevents her from being near a cellphone, tablet, laptop or even wi-fi.

Because of her illness, Norma had to live in a far-flung place where there is no signal, making it impossible for her and Leo (Paterson) to communicate regularly.

Despite this, Leo’s brother (Blake) goes out of his way to always visit Norma to fill in for his brother.

The movie also stars Yayo Aguila and Boots Anson Roa, among others.

It is slated for a 2018 release although no particular date has been announced yet.

Paterson was recently launched as part of the 2018 Star Magic Circle.

“Pinoy Boyband Superstar” paved the way for him to join showbiz. Although he didn't win, he caught the attention of Star Magic’s Johnny Manahan.

He is currently part of the daytime series “Sana Dalawa ang Puso.”
