MANILA -- Months after her breakup with long-time boyfriend Robi Domingo, TV host Gretchen Ho is starting to see the world in a different perspective.

In an interview with Push, the former volleyball star said she had many realizations during her recent trip to New York City, where she spent her 27th birthday last April.

"Sobrang saya kasi first time ko mag-spend ng birthday ko out of the country tapos parang feeling ko lang parang trineat ko 'yung sarili ko to a really good vacation," she said, adding that she also made sure she had some quiet time for herself.

"Tapos nung birthday ko mismo nag-alone time lang ako. Umikot lang ako ng New York mag-isa. Kailangan ko lang kasi tahimik eh kasi dito sa Pilipinas medyo maingay kaya dun nag-enjoy ako."

According to Ho, the much-needed trip gave her the peace and quiet she couldn't get here. Based on her Instagram posts, Ho has also been traveling a lot recently.

When asked to react about the rumors linking Domingo with Sandara Park, Ho said: "Ang dami kasing nangyayari sa amin na hindi alam ng mga tao sa labas. So that’s why we choose to keep quiet. Kasi maraming mga bagay na personal na kaming dalawa lang nakakaintindi, kaming dalawa lang nakakaalam kung nasaan kami."

She added that the reason they decided to part ways is to give themselves ample room to grow, not just as celebrities but also as young adults.

"I really believe that everything happens for a reason. Like God allowed this to happen because he has a purpose. And napakalaking bagay siguro nung panahon ko doon for me, for my heart, for my faith," she said.

According to Ho, opportunities also began coming in right after the breakup and that she is now more aggressive in accepting projects.
