MANILA – Ruffa Gutierrez admitted she was so scared to meet Eula Valdes when she first learned they will be working together in the ABS-CBN series “Love Thy Woman.”

Speaking on the second episode of her new online show “Love Thy Chika,” Gutierrez said she’s heard many things about Valdes’ work ethic and she is afraid they would get off on the wrong foot.

“The first time that actually nag-taping tayo, talagang takot na takot ako. Kasi everybody was saying talagang napakahusay mo and at the same time, mataray ka daw sa set. May mga nagsasabing ganun,” she told Valdes.

“That’s why the first time, ‘Hello, hi.’ Even if naging boyfriend mo si Kuya Monching noong araw nung panahon ng ‘Bagets.’ Siyempre nasa States pa ako noon so hindi ko alam,” she added.

Fortunately, Gutierrez said Valdes turned out to be a very nice person.

“But you were very friendly and very helpful sa set so maraming salamat sa iyo,” she said.

According to Valdes, she gets that impression a lot and she blames her eyes for it.

“Ang dami kasi talagang natatakot sa akin. Unang kita pa lang nila sa akin, nai-intimidate sila. Siguro yung mata ko, mataray kasi talaga yung mata ko. Kaya pinapabilog ko iyan para hindi masyadong magmukhang mataray,” she said.

A proof they’ve gotten pretty close, Valdes said she is already excited to tape her confrontation scene with Gutierrez once they go back to work for “Love Thy Woman.”

Gutierrez even said in jest that she’s looking forward to be slapped by the screen veteran, and that’s she’ll wear flats so she’ll be able to do awful things to her on camera.
