<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2020/entertainment/04/13/angel-locsin.jpg"/><figcaption>Angel Locsin previously led the #UniTentWeStandPH, a COVID-19 fundraiser that was publicly lauded by the Department of Health.<em> Instagram: @therealangellocsin</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA — Actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin has teamed up with the Tropical Disease Foundation (TDF) and the Ayala group in her mission to make coronavirus testing available to vulnerable sectors.</p><p>On Wednesday, Locsin shared photos of her visit to the TDF headquarters in Makati along with officials from Ayala Healthcare Holdings and Solaire Resort &amp; Casino.</p><p>Locsin represented the program she co-founded, the celebrity-driven <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/life/05/27/20/look-angels-car-annes-luxury-bag-up-for-auction-to-raise-funds-for-covid-19-test-kits">Shop &amp; Share</a>, which aims to raise funds to produce COVID-19 test kits specifically for underprivileged communities.</p><p>The groups came together for the inauguration of TDF&#x27;s COVID-19 testing laboratory, which was funded by the Ayala group, according to Locsin.</p><p>&quot;We are here to observe and learn more on how we can help the government and medical community in CoVid testing,&quot; Locsin said.</p><p>&quot;We are fortunate that private companies are working closely with the government to boost the daily testing capacity to 50,000 from the initial target of 30,000. This is crucial to flatten the curve and ease us in to the new normal as some of us go back to work,&quot; she wrote.</p><blockquote class="instagram-media" kit sample, frontline workers at TDF, as well as meetings among the participating groups.</p><p>&quot;I am impressed with this new facility and hopeful that we can have more of this in the country,&quot; she said.</p><p>Prior to her Shop &amp; Share initiative, Locsin led a far-reaching fundraising campaign, #UniTentWeStandPH, that delivered medical supplies, personal protective gear, and quarantine tents to dozens of hospitals caring for coronavirus patients.</p><p>The project raised more than P11 million, and was publicly lauded by the Department of Health.</p><p>It even spurred calls for Locsin to <a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/entertainment/05/01/20/locsin-for-2022-angel-says-no-to-running-but-yes-to-public-service">run for public office</a> in 2022, but the actress ruled out the possibility, saying public service can be done without entering politics.</p>
