Dimples Romana opens up how her life changed after her father died

<p>MANILA — More than a week before the celebration of Father’s Day, actress Dimples Romana remembered her late father, Joel Romana.</p><p>In her Instagram post on Thursday, Romana shared that she dreamed about her father, who passed away in 2001 when she was only 16 years old.</p><p>As the eldest, Romana took the responsibility to take care of their family. Romana said she’s thankful that before her father died, he taught them the things they needed in life.</p><blockquote class="instagram-media" Had a dream about my Papa Bong. And then I realized malapit na nga pala ang Father’s Day. It’s one of those occasions every year that I dread of coming. He passed away when I was only 16 years old. I was incoming first year Tourism student in UST. I had already began working then but was planning to stop for a bit to finish school but God had a different plan for me. After Papa passed away, I became the breadwinner of the family. Ate ako kaya I knew I had to take on the responsibility. I prayed every day, even until now,” Romana wrote in the caption.</p><p>“Isang bagay na naipamana ni Papa sa amin, ang ipagdasal ang lahat ng bagay. Nagpapasalamat ako dahil kahit maagang kinuha ni Lord si Papa, he has taught us all we need in life and more. A big salute to all the fathers who have sacrificed and loved their families to the best of their ability. &#x27;Di masalita si Papa, tahimik lang s&#x27;ya, he had a quiet strength in him that made us stronger as a family, especially through my late sister Sarah’s cancer battle of four years. He was always humble and worked the hardest. Papa, I miss you. Today I will embrace you in my prayers hoping my prayers will reach you wherever you are. And to those reading this, if you still have your fathers around, pakiyakap naman sila para sa akin. Napakaswerte ninyong kasama ninyo pa sila. Advanced Happy Father’s Day,” Romana added.</p>
