MANILA – Baron Geisler said he will stop smoking and drinking after his planned mixed martial arts match against indie actor Kiko Matos.

In an interview on "Tonight with Boy Abunda," the 34-year-old actor said he wanted to be healthy so he plans to quit his vices after the much-awaited Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC).

"After this fight, I will not smoke and I will not drink. And that's a challenge not kay Kiko Matos, pero sa sarili ko po because health is wealth," he said.

Geisler added that he agreed to pursue the match to free political prisoners like Maricon Montajes, a film student from UP who is currently detained in Batangas.

"Everything I do is for a cause. It's not all about me. It's not about you. It's about Him (God) and these other people na naagrabyado," he added.

Geisler said he and Matos have already signed a contract with URCC on Monday afternoon.

When asked how he wanted himself to be described, the award-winning actor said he wants to be remembered as "just human."

"I'm not your typical actor, not your typical celebrity. I'm just human, I have feelings. And punong-puno ako ng pag-ibig. Marami akong minamahal sa buhay," he said.

According to Geisler, all his prayers are dedicated to his mother, who undergoes dialysis twice a week.
