'We Love OPM' pays tribute to Rico J Puno

<p>MANILA - For its Fathers&#x27; Day episodes, &quot;We Love OPM&quot; paid tribute to one of the local music scene&#x27;s icons, Rico J. Puno.</p><p>Known for hit songs, such as &quot;Macho Gwapito&quot; and &quot;May Bukas Pa,&quot; among others, Puno is undeniably one of the biggest stars of the late 1970s and the 1980s.</p><p>Team Voice Next Door composed of Kyle Echarri, Bailey May and Juan Karlos Labajo opened the show with their rendition of Puno&#x27;s &quot;Macho Gwapito.&quot;</p><figure class="op-social"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/wT-klc0H0JA" width="560"></iframe></figure><p>Echarri, May and Labajo are coached by crooner Richard Poon.</p><p>Team Hot Spot came next with their dramatic interpretation of Puno&#x27;s romantic ballad &quot;Sorry na, Pwede ba.&quot;</p><figure class="op-social"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/NypdaQWN2Xo" width="560"></iframe></figure><p>The all-male team is composed of Markki Stroem, Ryan Christopher Sy and Alex Diaz. They are coached by R&amp;B singer Jay R.</p><p>Closing the show is the all-female group O Diva, Emmanuelle Vera, Liezel Garcia and Klarisse de Guzman, with their powerful rendition of Puno&#x27;s classic hit, &quot;Diyos ay Pag-ibig.&quot;</p><figure class="op-social"><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameBorder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/URyvK39kAw8" width="560"></iframe></figure><p>O Diva is being mentored by KZ Tandigan.</p><p>The all-female group was successful in bumping off the other two groups on Saturday&#x27;s episode.</p><p>The rest of the performers are scheduled to perform on Sunday.</p>
