MANILA — Actor and former Hashtags member Jon Lucas has parted ways with ABS-CBN and its talent management arm Star Magic, he confirmed in an Instagram post Wednesday expressing gratitude to the Kapamilya network.

Lucas, who was launched as part of the 2013 batch of Star Magic Circle, thanked ABS-CBN as well as his fans for “the love that you gave me and my family” and for “the wonderful six years.”

“I will forever be grateful and blessed to be part of your wonderful family!

Lucas, 23, did not give details of the “wasted” opportunities, but admitted that he had been neglectful and did not give enough importance to these.

After being introduced as an official Star Magic talent alongside batchmates Liza Soberano and Julia Barretto, Lucas appeared in several ABS-CBN series, including “Got to Believe,” “Be Careful with My Heart,” and “Luv U.”

In 2015, he joined the noontime program “It’s Showtime” as one of the original members of the dance group Hashtags. However, he was reportedly “suspended” from the group in 2017, and has not been seen on “It’s Showtime” since.

In July 2018, Lucas came out of “hiding” and confirmed for the first time that he had welcomed a son in November, and is now married.

In his Instagram post on Wednesday, Lucas went on to enumerate individuals and groups to whom he felt thankful, including his Star Magic handler Gidget dela Cuesta.

Addressing his followers who have supported him in the past six years, Lucas said: “Kung may pinakamahusay magtiyaga para sa taong mahal nila, ay kayon ‘yon!
