'I'm not letting go of his memory': Tirso opens up after son's death

Usually as a parent, ang feeling mo na kagaya ko, medyo maagang nawala &#x27;yung anak ko... Ang feeling mo you could have done some more, &#x27;yung marami ka pang puwedeng magawa para sa kanya. But unfortunately, fate came into the picture and took him away,&quot; he said.</p><p>The veteran actor went on: &quot;Parang sabi nga nila, &#x27;you have to let go of your son.&#x27; Sabi ko, &#x27;I have let him go because I know that the love that God the Father can give him, I can never outdo.&#x27; Hindi ko mako-compare &#x27;yung pagmamahal ko. Mas matindi ang pagmamahal noon and he is in a better place, alam ko.&quot;</p><p>While he has accepted the death of his son, Cruz stressed that he is not letting go of TJ&#x27;s memory.</p><p>&quot;&#x27;Yun lang pog-post ko ng ganun, it&#x27;s my way of not letting go of his memory, of not letting go of his essence. Sabi ko nga, his spirit is in heaven but &#x27;yung essence niya is something that I want to hold on to. Parang every day, may contact ako sa anak ko even if he is gone,&quot; he explained.</p><p>&quot;Ako napatunayan ko na totoo &#x27;yung sinasabi ng mga naka-experience ng death sa family. Na ganun, the pain never goes away, you just learn to live with it. Masasanay ka na lang na nandoon &#x27;yung pain, wala ka na lang magagawa,&quot; he added.</p><p>TJ was one of Tirso Cruz’s three children with his wife Lynn, along with Bodie and Djanin.</p><p>One of the original cast members of &quot;Ang TV&quot; in 1992, TJ went on to star in films including &quot;Eskapo&quot; and &quot;Rollerboys.&quot;</p><p>While his father and brother remained in showbiz, TJ opted to step out of the limelight in 2003.</p><p>He founded Spike for Hope, a volleyball tournament that aims to raise funds for children with critical illnesses.</p>
