Regine Velasquez turns emotional on 'ASAP' amid ABS-CBN franchise woes

<p>MANILA - Regine Velasquez turned emotional when she sang one of her own songs on “ASAP Natin To” on Sunday.</p><p>In a heartfelt message dedicated to her colleagues in the variety show and to all its viewers, Velasquez said she understands why people feel down because of everything that’s happening in the country.</p><p>“Habang tumatagal ang panahon, mas nararamdaman natin yung lungkot. Para tayong pinagsasakluban ng langit at lupa. Gusto ko lamang malaman ninyo na hindi po kayo nag-iisa. Kami man ay nakakaramdam ng matinding lungkot,” she said.</p><p>With all the things that must be dealt with, Velasquez said her only prayer is for everyone in “ASAP Natin To” to be able to continue what they love doing.</p><p>“Bagama’t ako po ay bago lamang nakakatuntong muli sa ‘ASAP’ stage, isang malaking karangalan po para sa akin na makatrabaho ang lahat ng bumubuo ng ‘ASAP Natin To’ kasama na po ang lahat ng singers, artists, dancers. Isa pong malaking karangalan sa akin,” she said.</p><p>“Ang dalangin ko po ay patuloy pa naming magawa kung ano ang gustong-gusto naming gawin. Ito po ay magpaligaya sa inyo,” she added.</p><p>Last week, the government ordered the shutdown of more of ABS-CBN&#x27;s broadcast platforms.</p><p>Separate cease and desist orders from the National Telecommunications Commission directed ABS-CBN to stop operating its digital TV transmission in Metro Manila using channel 43 (TVPlus), as well as Sky Cable Corp.&#x27;s SKYdirect.</p><p>The network&#x27;s TV and radio broadcast operations were earlier directed to halt on May 5, a day after its previous franchise expired.</p><p>Like her fellow artists, Velasquez said she still has a lot to offer to Kapamilya viewers.</p><p>“Ako po, bagama’t ako ay 100 years old na, marami pa po akong kantang ikakanta. Marami pang mga awitin na hindi ko pa naaawit sa inyo. Hindi niyo pa po ako nakikitang sumayaw,” she said, in jest.</p><p>“Kami po dito sa ASAP, nagdadasal na patuloy kaming makapaglingkod, makapagbigay saya at makatulong sa mga nangangailangan.
