MANILA – Former “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” contender Tony Labrusca is receiving mixed comments these days for his portrayal of Jake Arguelles on “La Luna Sangre.” He is often seen with Kathryn Bernardo on screen as their characters are good friends in the ABS-CBN series.

While viewers have noticed his performance, there are also solid supporters of Bernardo’s team-up with Daniel Padilla who are bashing him on social media.

And the hate has to stop, according to the three “La Luna Sangre” stars.

In a Facebook post, Labrusca said he is “completely appalled by the amount of cyber-bullying going on these days.”

“Being a third party to the KathNiel love team, I know and accept that there will be bashing. However, I do not condone it. Espcially when Kathryn and Daniel are anti cyber-bullying advocates,” he said.

“How can KathNiel fans say ‘kathniel or die’ and ‘respeto naman po’ when they do not even understand nor respect what their favorite love team stand for? This amount of hate has got to stop and it starts with me right here, right now,” he added.

The same sentiments were echoed by Bernardo and Padilla when they were interviewed on Tuesday night after they were hailed as Yes! Magazine’s ‘most beautiful stars’ for 2017.

“I’m sure aware si Tony na mangyayari 'yun. Kailangan niya tanggapin ‘yun pero kailangan na rin tigil-tigilan ng mga fans. Tigilan niyo,” Padilla said.

Padilla reiterated that Labrusca is only playing a role and he should not be attacked.

“It’s just a show. Relax lang. Huwag kayo nang-aaway ng mga tao dahil hindi naman sila 'yun. Character lang nila 'yun. Relax. Kung nagagalit kayo, effective. Guys please,” the actor appealed.

Bernardo, on the other hand, said the fact that Labrusca is delivering an effective performance is actually a good boost for their series, which airs from Monday to Friday after “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
