Star Hunt: The Global Showdown, the Kapamilya network&#x27;s first-ever online singing competition,<a href="https://asia.stevieawards.com/2020-stevie-winners" target="_blank"> won two awards</a> at the 2020 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards --a gold for the Innovation in Social Apps category, and a silver for the Innovation in Entertainment Apps category. The singing contest was held through the streaming platform Kumu last December, and has brought real-life impact, affording Filipino singers from various countries a wide audience. Its first winner, Denize Castillo, a 21-year-old student, took home a prize of $10,000 (nearly P500,000) and a contract with Star Music. The Global Showdown was recognized at the 2020 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards for being innovative, and will be presented its awards during a virtual awards ceremony scheduled for September 22.The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards is held annually, honoring innovation in the workplace in all 29 nations of the Asia-Pacific region. It is one of the eight award programs of the overall Stevie Awards, which has <a href="https://asia.stevieawards.com/about-stevie%C2%AE-awards" target="_blank">billed itself</a> as the &quot;world&#x27;s premier business awards.&quot; It was said to be created to &quot;honor and generate public recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of working professionals worldwide.&quot;
